Purpose: The People’s Choice Award was created to provide further opportunity for those artists not selected by the judge to be recognized for their art.

This is part of the mission of IAL to encourage artists, particularly beginning artists.

The People’s Choice Award gives the public the chance to give feedback to the artist and the artwork they feel deserves recognition.

Process: Anyone age 18 or older can vote.

  • Voting must be done in person via a paper ballot.

  • Voter lists top 3 favorite pieces of art.

  • Ballot is inserted into a locked ballot box on the 2nd floor gallery.

  • Voting is open from Saturday, Aug 17th, through Saturday, Aug 31st.

  • Each voter can only vote once for a given piece of artwork.

  • Winner of the People’s Choice Award will receive a ribbon and will be recognized in a posting on the Illinois Art League website and in its monthly newsletter.  There will be no monetary award granted.
