For as long as I can remember, I have always loved to draw, but it wasn’t until the fall of 2012 that I decided to indulge my artistic side. I joined the I.A.L. in July of 2013 and attended my first Water Media meeting that fall. In 2014 I took my first watercolor class at the lighthouse Art Center in Tequesta, Florida. Hoping to learn both a new technique and become familiar with a new medium, I took two workshops in May of 2015. The first was a watercolor workshop with Stephen Blackburn and the second was an Elizabeth Robbins oil painting workshop. Both proved to be challenging, but immensely enjoyable!
Being an avid gardener, many of my paintings feature the flowers that I am so fond of. My love of travel, is evident in the photographs I’ve taken, and offers my individual view of the world around us. I have thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie I’ve experienced, as a member of the Illinois Art League, and I look forward to seeing our league grow in the years to come. My greatest desire is to continue my growth as an artist, long into the future.
