I discovered my love of watercolor early; finding the medium offers a fresh and spontaneous approach which appeals to my sense of color and design.
Throughout my teaching career I have had the pleasure of working with high school, elementary and preschool students for over 27 years. During my retirement, one of my goals as a painter and teacher is to expand my business called Art Around Us. My business offers contractual specialty art classes; digital photo profiles; professional development seminars for classroom teachers; and art workshops for caregivers who work with young children.
My art lessons focus on teaching the Elements of Art and Qualities of Design. It is very important to me to expose all students to the application of art concepts in their works of art and classroom studies. The integration of art concepts helps to make all learning more relevant.
Retirement is allowing me the flexibility to expand my watercolor experiences and teach Visual Art.
