My painting “career” began after many years of working full-time and going to school part-time to earn my Bachelor of Science Degree at Illinois State University (1990). I then decided it was time to take a class just for fun and took my first watercolor class in September 1990. I have taken classes from Jean Griesemer, Joseph Fettingis, Tom Francesconi, Tony Couch, Sheila Parsons, Jeanne Ledbetter, Catherine W. Smith, Nita Engle, Jane Hofstetter and many more.

From 1995 thru 2007 I participated in art fairs throughout central Illinois. I have retired from the art-fair circuit and currently have my artwork in the Illinois Artisans Museum at Rend Lake, IL. and Beyond Normal, Normal, IL.).

I have a studio in my home in Normal, Illinois and paint primarily landscapes and still life. Regardless of the subject matter, I am very conscious of strong, rich color, good composition, and value contrasts. I always strive for a sense of excitement and beauty in whatever I am painting.
